We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to support financial operations for construction projects in New York City.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project accounting across multiple active construction jobs.
- Prepare and submit accurate construction billings in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure required documentation.
- Enter vendor and subcontractor invoices; obtain approvals and process payments.
- Maintain subcontractor accounts and communicate payment status.
- Input subcontractor and vendor commitments into the accounting system.
- Review monthly project cash flow and support funding requests.
- Participate in monthly cost reporting; verify costs, correct coding, and improve forecasting.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field – mandatory
- 2–4+ years of project or construction accounting experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office applications.
- Sage 300 and Procore experience – preferred
