The AP Staff Accountant is responsible for upholding accounting processes and ensuring financial accuracy and adherence through the preparation of reports and financial documentation. This position manages accounts payable
, sales audit review
, and related administrative support for multiple business units.
- Serve as the primary liaison to the corporate finance team for all restaurant accounts payable activities.
- Collect, review, validate, and process restaurant invoices end-to-end.
- Coordinate with on-site leadership to confirm invoices are submitted on a weekly cadence.
- Digitize and upload invoice documentation to the company’s internal platform/dashboard.
- Administer vendor payments, including preparing weekly check runs and mailing payments.
- Communicate routinely with suppliers on behalf of both restaurant leadership and the corporate office.
- Create and maintain vendor profiles, including collecting required tax documentation (W-9).
- Maintain accurate AP/accounting records by confirming and recording transactions.
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly to ensure balances are correct and discrepancies are resolved.
- Maintain an organized filing process for printed invoices and supporting records.
- Perform sales audits by reviewing daily sales reporting (DSR) to confirm accuracy across restaurant units.
- Research, resolve, and correct any variances, issues, or exceptions.
- Ensure daily sales activity properly reconciles and balances.
- Record daily sales journal entries promptly and consistently.
- Review monthly P&L expense line items for completeness at month-end.
- Book accruals for expenses not yet captured, as identified during close.
- Partner closely with the Assistant Controller to support the month-end close process.
- Work with General Managers to assist with operational and administrative needs.
- Train across other accounting areas as needed to provide coverage and flexibility.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of related accounting experience.
- Solid working knowledge of general accounting principles and processes.
- Prior accounting experience within the hospitality/restaurant industry required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems.
- Hands-on experience with Net Suite required.
- Familiarity with Craftable is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable team contributor with strong ethics and professionalism.

- Comfortable taking initiative and adapting in a dynamic, occasionally high-pressure environment.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

- Ability to consistently and safely perform job duties in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal/state/local requirements, including meeting productivity expectations.
- Ability to maintain reliable and punctual attendance consistent with applicable standards.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a desk/computer.
- Frequent walking within the work area and property to complete tasks; may require bending, lifting, carrying, reaching above shoulder height, and working in a continually changing environment.
- Ability to climb stairs on a regular basis.
