Accountant, Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting

We’re hiring a hands-on, systems-minded Accountant (holding their CPA) to build and own the accounting and financial foundation of a growing startup. This is not a narrow, maintenance accounting role — this person will be joining us as the first Accountant and will set up processes, bring structure to fast-moving operations, and act as the primary financial steward for the business.

You’ll work directly with leadership to ensure the company has strong controls, smart cash management, and financial visibility to support growth and day-to-day decisions. You will have the opportunity to have an immediate impact with the organization by handling a variety of tax filings and establishing best practices for the future.

• Turn messy manual processes into automated processes that delight customers
• Tax preparation and filings
• Establish and manage the end-to-end accounting function
• Set up and optimize accounting systems
• Lead monthly close and maintain an accurate general ledger
• Create scalable accounting processes and internal controls
• Manage cash flow, runway tracking, and burn analysis
• Prepare financials for investors, fundraising, and due diligence
• Oversee all tax compliance (federal, state, local) and coordinate with external tax partners
• Build and manage budgeting and forecasting models as the company grows
• Partner with founders to translate financial data into actionable insights
• Prepare the company for future audit readiness

• 5-10 years Accounting/CPA experience, ideally in fast moving, non- traditional environments. Start-up experience nice to have!
• Spreadsheet athlete:
  Advanced Sheets/Excel
• You hold an active CPA license
• Ability to build systems and processes from scratch
• Strong foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, tax compliance
