Head of Technical Accounting and Reporting

Our client, a high-growth Series E Health Tech Startup that has built an AI driven SaaS platform is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting to join their team in New York, NY.

It's a very exciting time for the firm as they recently hit $100M in revenue, increased headcount by 20% last year and are gearing up for an IPO in the near future!

The Senior Manager will lead the company’s technical accounting function and build scalable, public company–ready reporting. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on U.S. GAAP compliance, SEC‑style reporting, and partnering across the business as the company scales. This will start as an individual contributor role with the opportunity to build out a team in the future.

• Technical accounting: Own accounting conclusions and documentation across Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), Stock-Based Compensation (ASC 718), Internally Developed Software (ASC 350‑40), Equity (ASC 505), Leases (ASC 842).
• Operational accounting: Oversee key aspects of the operational GL, including building financial models and booking/reviewing journal entries to support an accurate, scalable close and reporting process.
• SEC reporting / filings & SOX: Support IPO readiness and ongoing SEC reporting, including drafting and coordinating SEC filings (10‑Qs, 10‑Ks, S‑1s) and lead 1st‑year SOX compliance.
• Evaluate complex customer and partner arrangements, support ASC 606 execution, and align on regulatory‑related accounting implications.
• Lead quarterly/annual financial statement prep, support the close on complex or judgment‑heavy areas and deliver reporting for leadership, investors, and the board.
• Partner with Data/Analytics, FP&A, Product, and Operations to incorporate key operational metrics into reporting and evaluate strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate external audits and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting, with a focus on scaling a regulated healthcare/technology platform and managing growth‑related risk.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA strongly preferred.
• 6‑10+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or large public accounting firm) or corporate technical accounting roles.
• Significant work experience in technical accounting (ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 350‑40, ASC 505, ASC 842).
• Revenue recognition (ASC 606) experience required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting (10‑Qs, 10‑Ks, S‑1s).
• Advanced Excel required and Net Suite preferred.
