Full-Charge Bookkeeper
Location: Brooklyn, NY

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, Standard Business Hours

We are seeking an experienced, highly accountable Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our growing team in Brooklyn. This is a hands‑on, ownership‑driven role for someone who is comfortable managing the full day‑to‑day bookkeeping function end to end. You will be responsible for keeping the books accurate, organized, and close‑ready while supporting a business that is actively evolving and scaling.
This position is ideal for a seasoned bookkeeper who takes pride in precision, follow‑through, and clean financials—and who is adaptable as systems, workflows, and volume change over time.
Role OverviewAs the Full-Charge Bookkeeper, you will own the execution of all core bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and ongoing maintenance of the general ledger. You will work closely with leadership and external accounting partners to ensure the books are accurate, timely, and ready for month‑end and year‑end close.
While this role is firmly grounded in day‑to‑day execution, there is meaningful opportunity for growth over the next 12–18 months as the company expands and the accounting function continues to mature.
Key Responsibilities Day‑to‑Day Bookkeeping Ownership- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process and track vendor bills, payments, customer invoices, and collections
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date financial records with strong attention to detail
- Perform regular bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly and thoroughly
- Ensure books are consistently clean and prepared for month‑end and year‑end close
- Maintain the general ledger with accurate coding and documentation
- Assist with month‑end close activities and provide support to external accountants or CPAs
- Prepare supporting schedules and reports as needed
- Follow established procedures while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Adapt to evolving systems, tools, and workflows as the business grows
- Maintain strong documentation and internal controls
- Several years of hands‑on bookkeeping experience, preferably in a full‑charge role
- Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- High level of accuracy, organization, and accountability
- Comfortable owning tasks end to end with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage deadlines and maintain consistency in a growing, changing environment
- Strong communication skills and professionalism when working with vendors, leadership, and external partners
- Proficiency with accounting software and Excel
- True ownership of the bookkeeping function
