Atlantic Group is hiring a Tax Staff Accountant (Temp-to-Perm) in Westchester County, NY for our client, supporting tax preparation, general ledger accounting, and month‑end close within a public accounting environment. This temp‑to‑perm role includes preparing individual and corporate tax returns, assisting with financial reporting, and performing reconciliations using Excel and accounting software to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Month‑End Close Support: prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with month‑end close processes.
• Tax Compliance & Filings: prepare payroll and sales tax filings and support federal and state tax reporting requirements.
• Tax Return Preparation: assist with preparation of individual and corporate tax returns.
• General Ledger Analysis: analyze GL accounts and investigate variances to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Financial Reporting: prepare monthly reporting packages and support internal reporting needs.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Experience:
  
  1–2 years of accounting or tax experience, preferably in a public accounting or CPA firm environment.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required, with experience using tax or accounting software preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: basic understanding of tax compliance, financial reporting, and general accounting principles.
• Skills & Attributes: detail‑oriented, strong problem‑solving abilities, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
