Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking a Senior Accountant. Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed data reconciliations and investigate discrepancies across large datasets
• Prepare and post complex journal entries with complete and accurate documentation
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, or variances
• Build, manage, and audit large Excel workbooks to support monthly and quarterly close
• Trace transactions and data points across multiple systems and spreadsheets for accuracy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and clean financial data
• Maintain financial models and schedules to support reporting and audit readiness
• Handle ad hoc analysis and shifting priorities with minimal supervision
• Drive data integrity and support continuous improvement of accounting processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, or related field
• 4-5+ years of accounting experience, ideally at the Senior Accountant level
• Strong foundation in journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data tracing across tabs)
• Ability to work independently with large, complex spreadsheets and data sets
• Strong analytical mindset and keen attention to detail

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
