Location: New York

Our client is hiring a detail oriented Property Accountant to support the day to day accounting operations across a portfolio of 12–15 luxury co-op and condominium properties. This is a hands on role for someone who thrives in a fast paced real estate environment and enjoys partnering closely with property managers, vendors, and ownership.

What You’ll Do Accounts Receivable & Tenant Accounting
  • Process daily rent receipts and post tenant payments (ACH, checks, wires)
  • Maintain accurate tenant ledgers and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Monitor account balances and prepaid expenses
Accounts Payable
  • Review, code, and enter vendor invoices
  • Ensure proper approvals and GL coding of property expenses
  • Prepare and process AP payment batches
General Ledger & Reconciliations
  • Post journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications
  • Complete monthly bank and security deposit reconciliations
  • Support month end close and financial statement preparation
  • Analyze budget vs actual variances and summarize findings
  • Support ownership reporting and internal financial reviews
  • Act as the key accounting liaison between property managers, vendors, and ownership
What We’re Looking For
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong AP and AR fundamentals
  • Comfortable with GL coding and reconciliations
  • Experience managing multiple properties at once
Required Systems Experience

Hands on experience with one or more of the following:

  • MRI Software
  • Yardi
Preferred Background
  • Prior co-op and condominium accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Former Property Managers with co-op/condo exposure welcome
  • Commercial real estate candidates considered if required systems experience is present
