Staff Accountant

LOS TACOS No. 1 is an expanding restaurant group with multiple locations in Manhattan serving Mexican tacos in a vibrant atmosphere. The company started after three close friends from Tijuana, Mexico and Brawley, CA realized the need for truly authentic Mexican tacos on the East Coast. The company is passionate about making every guest at LOS TACOS No. 1 feel like they have been transported to Mexico when they step into our restaurants.

We're looking for a Staff Accountant to join our fast paced and growing team. The ideal candidate must be well organized, have a strong attention to detail and be eager to learn and grow with the company.

The role of Staff Accountant will involve:

• Maintain the general ledger
• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts and close the monthly books
• Create a weekly snapshot P&L of the company’s food and labor cost percentage
• Allocate expenses in Restaurant
  365 and Expensify to properly record bank and credit card transactions
• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manage accounts receivable collections
• Properly accrue for bonus and rent expense and record prepaid expenses on a monthly basis
• Check cash deposits on a daily basis and record any discrepancies versus the amount reported from the POS
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements at least monthly
• Record the product mix from the POS to assist in forecasting sales
• Accounts payable invoice entry and bill payments
• Year end tax reporting and 1099 filings
• Create ad hoc reports as needed

What we're looking for:

• 3-4 years of finance or accounting work experience
• Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in finance/accounting preferred
• Expert knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, SUMIF)
• Experience with Restaurant
  365 or similar General Ledger accounting software
• Experience in restaurants or hospitality preferred
• Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and ability to multi-task and establish priorities
