The ideal candidate will have experience of Group consolidation accounting and M&A PPA and integration experience. The individual needs to possess strong technical experience along with the adaptability, resilience to change and inter-personal skills necessary to thrive in large people-oriented organizations.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities- This is a US based role, which will work alongside the US and EMEA Controller, as well as the local event finance teams.
- Point of contact for M&A; overseeing due diligence, through to integration and ensuring compliance with US GAAP. This will include coordinating and reviewing external valuations with third party and responsibility for documenting the accounting analysis in a technical memo for the auditors.
- Documenting group US GAAP accounting policies and ensuring finance teams have appropriate understanding of application.
- Ensure timely reporting of all significant accounting transactions, implementation of relevant accounting technical standards, and preparation of technical accounting memos to support all accounting positions. In particular, revenue recognition and lease accounting.
- Work alongside US Controller in review of the financial statement and ensuring footnotes meet requirements and ensuring consolidation is executed effecitively.
- Work alongside the US controller on the Group Audit; point of contact for the auditors on technical accounting matters
- Responsible for Annual goodwill impairment review, investment roll forwards and intangibles.
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting (including public accounting)
- Significant technical accounting experience in various topics is required - experience in accounting advisory group is highly preferred
- Strong grasp of group consolidations and cashflows
- Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate technical issues to stakeholders
- Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively under strict time constraints
- Ability to successfully lead and complete projects with multiple stakeholders
