Senior Tax Accountant

A well-established mid-sized CPA and Business Consulting Firm (50–100 professionals) with offices in Midtown NYC and Jericho, Long Island is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join its growing Jericho team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts & estates
• Conduct tax research using tools such as CCH, XCM, and RIA
• Identify tax planning opportunities and assist with implementation strategies
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information and address tax-related matters
• Support Partners and Managers with tax compliance and consulting engagements
• Mentor and assist junior staff in the preparation of returns and work papers
• Ensure engagements are completed accurately, timely, and within budget
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality service

Qualifications

• CPA license required (or actively pursuing CPA, if applicable)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
• 4–8+ years of recent and relevant U.S. public accounting experience
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing tax returns across multiple entity types
• Broad knowledge of federal and state taxation
• Excellent technical and tax research skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple engagements
