We are offering an extraordinary opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Tax Manager.
- Supervise and review the work of staff and senior accountants assigned to client engagements;
- Direct preparation/review of tax returns and other tax filings and monitor progress of engagements in relation to budgets and due dates;
- Assist with preparing tax returns and supporting work papers (where applicable);
- Train and evaluate staff and senior accountants;
- Review engagements prior to submitting to partner for final review;
- Address client’s questions on tax returns and make any necessary changes;
- Handle preparing tax notice correspondence for review by partner;
- Assist partner or principal with compiling client documents for IRS or state and local tax audits, sales tax audits or payroll tax audits;
- Serve as a liaison between partner, clients, and staff;
- Communicate with clients regularly during the year and address any tax issues raised in an efficient and effective manner.
- 7+ years of tax experience with a CPA firm
- B.A or B.S in Accounting, Finance or a Business-related field of study
- CPA license or working toward completion of CPA preferred
- Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Proficient in preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporate, multistate, and trusts and estates
- Strong computer skills with knowledge and skills in a wide variety of applications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient with use of CCH Axcess and other tax-related software preferred
