- Project accounting:
Manage all aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition. - Budgeting and forecasting:
Support the preparation of the annual budget and forecast (net fee projections). - Audit and control:
Maintain internal controls, ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulations, and serve as a liaison for external auditors/accountants. - General ledger management:
Manage aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable. - Cash and treasury management:
Manage daily cash management activities.
- Progressive accounting experience, 4-6 years in corporate or project-based Accounting in the Architecture, Engineering or Construction Industry.
- Direct project accounting experience, setting up projects in accounting system on a percentage completion basis, time & material (T&E), and tracking client approved fees.
- Monthly client billing, experience using Ajera accounting system, E-Builder, PMWEB, SCA portal, and Passport preferred.
- Supervisory experience and proven management abilities.
- Must be able to perform financial analysis, create reports, and prepare internal financial statements for management or financial institutions as needed.
- Expertise in bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliations and account reconciliations is required.
- Must have experience with the financial closing process, assist with various accounting and administrative duties based on the firm’s current established processes as delegated by the Controller.
- Communicate effectively with various clients, consultants, and our architecture team.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Strong command of generally accepted accounting principles for accurate reporting of financial and compliance.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting and ERP software to include:
- Ajera or Deltek
- Microsoft Office Suites, advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor the accounting staff and collaborate with other departments.
- Highly accurate and thorough in financial record-keeping and reporting required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical abilities to identify financial trends, investigate variances, and resolve accounting issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for collaboration with colleagues and presenting financial information to management.
Hybrid work schedule after orientation period.
Salary RangeSalary range for this position is $80, subject to adjustment based on candidate’s experience, skills, and references feedback.
