Responsibilities
- Assists the Controller with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
- Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from department
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts
- Assist with monthly and annual forecasting and budget to actual comparisons
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Supports accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation, entry and cash applications
- Regularly maintains detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
- Development of efficient business processes and month end closing procedures
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations
- Performs Payroll processing and labor reconciliations
- Performs all other duties as required, requested, or needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5-7+ years of experience managing transactional accounting tasks in a public or privately held organization
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
- Experience with journal entries, monthly and year end close
- Must be proficient in Excel
- This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
- Previous experience completing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Detail oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
- Familiar working with manufacturing environment a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change
- Ability to interact and communicate with multiple levels of the organization
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Highly organized with excellent recordkeeping
- Comfortable managing a varied workload, with the ability to identify priority tasks
- An elevated level of self-motivation and able to work on own initiative
- Ability to sit and stand for an extending period
- Be able to lift 20 lbs
Base Salary Range: $90,000-$105,000 (Annually)
Please note, this is the expected compensation however, ESCO Maritime Solutions considers many factors in determining compensation prior to office, such as: responsibilities and scope of role, candidate's work experience and education related to position, applicable certifications or trainings, business and market conditions.
