US GAAP Conversion & External Reporting Lead
This is a remote, W2 hourly interim position with Korn Ferry's client and will require working East Coast hours.
Position OverviewThis role strengthens Controllership capacity during US GAAP conversion from IFRS and increased regulatory complexity. The position is a senior individual contributor responsible for technical accounting execution, SEC reporting support, and close discipline during parallel reporting cycles.
The focus is precision, control integrity, and scalable process execution— not broad team management.
Core ResponsibilitiesUS GAAP Technical Execution
- Support accounting basis realignment from IFRS to US GAAP.
- Partner with advisors to validate conclusions and implementation decisions.
- Lead development and documentation of US GAAP accounting policies.
- Draft and review technical accounting memos and position papers.
Parallel Reporting & Close Support
- Execute dual-basis (US GAAP > IFRS 17) reporting during dry runs and validation periods.
- Strengthen close controls and documentation under accelerated timelines.
- Resolve complex accounting issues tied to insurance liabilities and reserves.
- Ensure reconciliation integrity across IFRS and US GAAP frameworks.
External Reporting & SEC Support
- Prepare and review financial statements and footnotes.
- Enhance disclosure quality under heightened scrutiny.
- Support earnings release documentation and management discussion materials.
- Coordinate effectively with external auditors.
- Ensure consistency across SEC, statutory, and management reporting outputs.
Control & Governance Strengthening
- Reinforce SOX and internal control documentation.
- Identify control gaps arising from new accounting standards.
- Enhance audit readiness and documentation quality.
- 10‑15 years of accounting experience within life insurance and annuities.
- Deep technical experience in US GAAP and STAT; LDTI exposure preferred.
- SEC reporting and public‑company experience strongly preferred.
- Strong internal controls and audit coordination background.
- Experience navigating accounting transitions or regulatory change.
- Ability to independently manage complex technical work streams.
- Technically rigorous and detail‑oriented.
- Highly organized and deadline‑driven.
- Confident interfacing with senior leadership and auditors.
- Hands‑on executor who strengthens reporting discipline immediately.

Pay Rate Range:
- $80/hr.
- $100/hr.
