Senior Property Accountant

XL Real Property Management is a luxury property management company that focuses on serving the needs of investors in the New York City real estate market. We manage individual units, full residential buildings, and pied‑à‑terres on behalf of owners who expect a high level of service and attention to detail.

The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare and deliver monthly owner financial statements for a residential portfolio
• Manage full‑cycle property accounting for units, buildings, and pied‑à‑terres
• Reconcile operating, reserve, and escrow accounts
• Review invoices, expenses, and owner disbursements for accuracy and consistency
• Track rent, common charges, utilities, real estate taxes, and vendor payments
• Work closely with property managers to resolve discrepancies and owner questions
• Support year‑end close and prepare reporting packages for CPAs
• Maintain clear, organized financial records in line with NYC requirements

• 5+ years of property accounting experience (NYC experience preferred)
• Strong experience preparing owner statements (required)
• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
• Ability to work independently, collaborate as a team, and manage multiple properties
• Effective client service skills with a professional, polished communication style
• High level of discretion and maturity when handling confidential owner information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (App Folio preferred)
• Experience with Yardi is helpful
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment
