ARC Payroll Accountant

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in‑residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction.

ARC Command Headquarters is seeking a Payroll Accountant to support the ARCC Accountant with various payroll and accounting functions.

• Maintain payroll files and enter information into the Paychex and/or UKG system
• Receive and maintain attendance records, audit eligibility/payment of paid absences, and process payroll
• Process Officer allowance forms for approval, prepare hand checks and maintain a file of housekeeping vouchers
• Review Paychex/UKG reports and W‑2s for accuracy, compute Christmas bonuses, and act as custodian for secondary petty cash fund
• Balance payroll, reconcile Paychex records regarding health and voluntary benefits, and complete quarterly pension remittance forms
• Complete monthly operating bank reconciliation, process monthly and annual mileage logs, approve credit card transactions as directed, attend training conferences as requested, and be backup to the ARCC Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
• Five years of experience in payroll/accounting or a similar position
• Excellent attention to detail and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• High regard for and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Experience with UKG is preferred
