Senior Accountant

Our client, a well-established CPA firm in Nanuet, NY, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers exposure to a diverse client base across industries, including closely held businesses, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals. The ideal candidate is technically strong, client-focused, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven public accounting environment.

• Prepare and review financial statements for a variety of client entities
• Perform complex general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for clients
• Assist with tax preparation support, including corporate and individual returns
• Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and financial reporting needs
• Support audit and assurance engagements as needed
• Research and resolve technical accounting issues
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax regulations
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff accountants
• Identify opportunities to improve client accounting processes and efficiencies

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with tax preparation and/or audit support
• Proficiency in accounting software (Quick Books, CCH, Pro System fx, or similar)
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
