FinOp​/Accountant

ACI is seeking a Staff Accountant, Fin Op to act as the Financial Operations Principal for various broker dealer clients. The ideal candidate has a completed bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3-5 years of accounting experience in an agency setting where they were responsible for servicing multiple client accounts.

Staff Accountant, Fin Ops are responsible for preparing and executing the month-end close process and Focus Report filling for assigned clients by:

• Accurately preparing various required schedules and client reports in a timely manner
• Reviewing bank reconciliation statements for accuracy
• Recording customer receivables/vendor accruals in Quick Books
• Accurately analyzing, recording, and reviewing clearing activity
• Calculating net capital and compiling month-end financial reporting packages with accuracy
• Preparing and reviewing FINRA FOCUS Reports for filing
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3 – 5 years of accounting experience
• FINRA Series 27 license strongly preferred, candidates without this license will be responsible for obtaining it within 3 months of starting the role
• Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Foundational understanding of FINRA and SEC compliance regulations
• CPA preferred but not required
• Basic proficiency of Quick Books Desktop and Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in both (verbal and written) and comfortable to liaise with senior leadership, FINRA regulators and auditors
• Highly motivated self-starter with multi-tasking abilities that can deliver tight deadlines and produce high-quality work
• Detail oriented and well organized; ability to deal with time sensitive requests
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn about the regulatory landscape and unique structures in place
• In depth knowledge of US broker-dealers a plus
