Location: New York

The Accounts Payable Representative is responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the accounting department with daily financial operations. This role ensures that all company expenses are paid accurately and on time and owns the vendor A/P relationship for assigned vendors.

  • 12-month contract.
  • 5 days onsite in Valhalla, NY (no remote option).
Responsibilities
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation (extensive contract review and compliance).
  • Code invoices to correct cost center (department) and general ledger accounts.
  • Verify approvals and process vendor invoices and payment requests.
  • Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents.
  • Prepare and process checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers as needed.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable records and filing systems (including electronic scanning of invoices).
Qualifications / Requirements

Experience: 3 plus years of experience working in a full-cycle Accounts Payable function preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred.

Other: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry skills. Good organization and time-management skills. Effective interpersonal communication and problem solving abilities. Work as part of a team and develop strong vendor relationships. INFOR ERP system preferred but not required.
