Division Controller

Cooper Douglas has partnered with a growing manufacturing company in Long Island on a search for a Division Controller to oversee one of their business units. This individual will lead the accounting and finance function for the division and play a key role in rebuilding and improving the overall finance organization.

The ideal candidate is someone comfortable stepping into an evolving environment, improving processes, resolving accounting challenges, and building structure within a smaller manufacturing operation.

This role is fully on-site and will initially operate with a lean team structure. The Controller will have significant visibility and autonomy within the division.

• Lead all accounting and finance activities for the division
• Own month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger oversight
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and overall financial structure
• Partner with leadership on operational and financial improvements
• Assist with team restructuring and future hiring within the accounting function
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
• Oversee Quick Books environment and help drive process improvements
• Support operational and accounting improvement initiatives

• BIG 4 background preferred, ideally coming out of Manager or Senior Manager level, or strong Mid-Tier public accounting experience
• Manufacturing industry experience required
• Must have private industry/manufacturing experience in addition to public accounting
• Comfortable operating independently within a smaller division environment
• Hands‑on mentality with willingness to roll up sleeves
• Experience working in high-growth, transitional, or evolving environments is highly preferred
• CPA required
