Job Overview – Accounting Associate
Compensation: $75,000 – $90,000/year + bonus

Schedule:
Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Associate in New York, NY for our client, supporting accounting operations, reconciliations, bookkeeping, and financial reporting activities within a growing real estate investment environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or early‑career accounting professional to join a fast‑paced multifamily real estate firm and gain hands‑on experience working closely with experienced accounting and leadership teams.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, motivated to learn, and eager to build a long‑term career within accounting and real estate finance.
- Bookkeeping & Reconciliations: Support day-to-day accounting operations including account reconciliations, bookkeeping activities, and operational general ledger maintenance.
- Journal Entries & Accruals: Assist with accruals, prepaids, journal entries, and monthly accounting close activities.
- Account Analysis: Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to company transactions, vendor accounts, fee transfers, and operational accounting items.
- Financial Accuracy: Support the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records and assist with ensuring clean and reliable monthly reporting.
- Operational Support: Partner with accounting and operations teams to support process improvements, issue resolution, and ongoing financial organization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and vendors to support accounting workflows, documentation, and day-to-day operational needs.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Internship experience or up to 1 year of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or related experience is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Exposure to real estate, property accounting, or investment environments through internships or coursework is a plus.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems, Quick Books, or financial software is preferred. - Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, analytical abilities, communication skills, intellectual curiosity, problem‑solving capabilities, and a willingness to learn are required.
