Job Summary

We are currently partnering with a small manufacturer near the White Plains area looking to hire a junior accountant skilled in AP and AR. Must be comfortable working 5 days on site.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a high volume of bookkeeping transactions, including data entry, invoice processing, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support accounts receivable functions, including preparing and sending invoices, and tracking down unpaid balances.
  • Prepare and process payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Research and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close activities.
  • Take ownership of tasks and work independently.
  • Organize and maintain both physical and digital financial records.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in a clerical or transactional accounting role.
  • Associate's degree in accounting or similar certification or coursework.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Sage or similar).
  • Communication skills – a large portion of this role involves communicating with other teams to gather information.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple follow‑ups.
  • Dependable, detail‑oriented, and able to maintain accuracy in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and figuring things out through internal research and interdepartmental collaboration.
