Job Overview – Accounts Payable Specialist

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist in New York, NY for our client, supporting accounts payable operations, vendor management, procurement processes, and financial administration within a growing real estate environment. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or candidates with up to one year of accounting experience who are looking to build a long-term career in accounting, finance, or real estate operations.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable Processing: Manage invoice processing, payment tracking, and accounts payable activities while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
  • Vendor Administration: Maintain vendor records, tax documentation, and account information while supporting vendor relationships and inquiries.
  • Payment Management: Assist with payment runs, approval workflows, and account reconciliations to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Procurement Coordination: Support purchase order processing, spending approvals, and procurement activities across multiple properties and departments.
  • Expense Oversight: Monitor vendor invoices, utility expenses, and purchasing activity while identifying discrepancies and resolving issues.
  • Process Improvement: Assist with reporting, workflow enhancements, and administrative projects that support operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 0–1 years of accounting, finance, procurement, or administrative experience is required. Internship experience is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Exposure to real estate, property management, accounting, or financial operations is preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and accounting or financial systems is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication abilities, and a willingness to learn within a fast-paced professional environment are required.
