Job Description

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity in the financial services industry in New York, New York, , United States. The role in question is that of a Payroll Clerk. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be tasked with a variety of duties relating to payroll processing, timekeeping record maintenance, and the generation of labor reports.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately and timely process payroll and generate related reports
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including pay rate and account number changes
  • Adhere to established timekeeping and accounting principles
  • Generate labor reports and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Reconcile all payroll related general ledger accounts
  • Conduct reviews to ensure accurate computation of pay and interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll and timekeeping processes
  • Utilize word‑processing and accounting/payroll software applications
  • Apply knowledge of accounting principles and functions
  • Use payroll software for various accounting functions
  • Interpret and apply government regulations and company policies affecting payroll processes
  • Proficiency in payroll software and general ledger systems
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and functions
  • Ability to process payroll in accordance with company policy
  • Proven experience in time keeping and data compilation
  • Knowledge of government regulations related to payroll
  • Ability to perform ad hoc financial computations and interpret results
  • Proficiency in word processing software
  • Experience in reviewing and preparing quarterly and annual reports
  • Strong communication skills to interpret and explain payroll policies and procedures
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
