Freed Maxick, a top 100 firm in the U.S. featured on Forbes' list of America’s Best Accounting Firms, is seeking a talented Tax Manager with expertise in small to mid-sized Corporate, Flow-Through Entity, and Individual income taxation. This role, based in our Rochester office, offers a unique blend of a top-tier firm’s resources with a small office feel, providing opportunities for direct client engagement and interaction across our Buffalo, Batavia, and Rochester locations.
Position OverviewThis managerial role involves leading staff training, managing client relationships, and overseeing the preparation and review of Corporate, Partnership, and Individual tax returns. You will also provide advisement and consultation on complex client issues, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic tax department ideal for motivated professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation and review of Corporate, Partnership, and Individual tax returns.
- Advise clients on internal financial matters including budgeting, analytical analysis, and key decision-making metrics.
- Stay current with tax laws and developments.
- Lead staff development and training initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement entity and individual tax planning opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree/MBA with CPA.
- Experience with Corporate, Partnership, and Individual tax returns.
- Strong presentation, client-facing, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax compliance and preparation within public accounting.
- Excellent research skills utilizing resources like CCH, RIA Checkpoint, and BNA.
- Proficiency with accounting software including Quick Books.
