Senior Accountant – Astronics Subsidiary LSINY

Location:

East Aurora, NY

• Own the financial reporting process, ensuring all reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with US GAAP and Astronics corporate policies.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition methods.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and internal controls that support SOX compliance.
• Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial processes and strengthen system workflows.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and draft position memos on key accounting matters.
• Support financial forecasting, analysis, and planning to help leaders make informed business decisions.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
• Act as a trusted business partner to other departments, helping non-accounting leaders understand the financial story behind the numbers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition, and SOX compliance.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, translating complex financial data into clear insights.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Attention to detail, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Mindset focused on quality, integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Preferred: CPA certification, public accounting or manufacturing experience, aerospace industry exposure, and advanced Excel skills.

• Base salary: $85,000 – $100,000, influenced by experience, skill set, education, certifications, market conditions, and business needs.
