We have partnered with a leading distributed generation solar & storage developer, owner, and operator, in their search for a Senior Accountant
. Founded over a decade ago, with private‑equity backing, they manage a 450+ MW portfolio across the U.S., with a focus on commercial, industrial, and community solar projects. The company is dedicated to advancing the clean energy transition through responsible investment and long‑term partnerships.
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the coordination, preparation, and reporting of financial and tax information across multiple entities within the GSPP structure. This role requires a high degree of general accounting expertise, organizational efficiency, and a collaborative spirit to support various areas of the finance function.
This position plays a key role in the accounting department at the Company and is highly visible. The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Director – Controller and will regularly interact with various members of the executive management team.
Key Responsibilities:- Performing various monthly/quarterly closing activities for various GSPP entities,
- Preparing, compiling, and processing journal entries and other financial transactions and performing account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of account balances and the proper accounting treatment of various transactions as per US GAAP,
- Performing bank reconciliation and analysis of various general ledger accounts including inter‑company accounts; identifying and resolving reconciling items and accounting issues on a timely basis,
- Performing various accounting duties that include updating various schedules, KPI’s and variance analysis,
- Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process,
- Assisting in preparation of various consolidated financial statements,
- Assisting with various compliance/due diligence work for operating projects, acquisition, or for project financing,
- Prepare tax return work papers for submission to corporate tax return preparer,
- Partner with Fin Ops team to ensure compliance with DSCR and waterfall for GSPP entities,
- Provide support for ad‑hoc request and any other tasks that may arise.
- Bachelor’s or Master degree in accounting required,
- Prior Big 4 or regional public accounting audit experience (CPA or active CPA track preferred),
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting that involves multiple legal entities,
- Experience working with a range of financial and accounting software (e.g., Sequoia, Sage Intacct) as well as the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new platforms,
- Proven ability to manage multiple reporting timelines and complex fund structures,
- Industry experience in renewable energy, infrastructure and/or fund accounting,
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and organizational skills,
- Effective communicator and collaborator with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
