We are currently seeking a Manufacturing & Distribution Audit Senior Associate with SEC experience to join our team in either Jericho or New York, NY. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.
Responsibilities- Lead audit engagements for Manufacturing, Distribution, and commercial clients from initial planning through final deliverables, including risk assessment, fieldwork oversight, and completion procedures.
- Manage client relationships as the primary point of contact, addressing audit and accounting questions and building client trust.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff and interns, reviewing their work for accuracy and quality, and providing constructive performance feedback.
- Review audit work papers and financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.
- Evaluate and test internal controls, identify deficiencies, process inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, especially in inventory, cost accounting, and revenue recognition for M&D clients.
- Execute day‑to‑day activities for SEC‑registered engagements, supporting high‑quality audit delivery.
- Prepare and review complex audit documentation, including working papers, client deliverables, and financial statement disclosures.
- Perform and guide substantive testing on key accounts such as inventory, fixed assets, revenue, and cost of sales.
- Research and resolve technical accounting and auditing issues using authoritative literature, firm tools, and guidance.
- Collaborate with engagement managers and partners to develop audit strategies tailored to M&D client operations.
- Assist in staff evaluations and participate in recruiting and development initiatives.
- Ensure engagements are completed on time, within scope and budget, maintaining audit quality and client service.
- Manage workload across multiple engagements, prioritizing with a focus on efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with professional standards, firm methodology, and client expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
Master’s degree in Accounting preferred. - Minimum 3–5 years progressive audit experience, with prior public accounting experience.
- Experience in Manufacturing & Distribution and commercial industries.
- SEC experience required.
- CPA license preferred or actively pursuing certification.
- Proven supervisory and leadership abilities in a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to work additional hours and travel to client sites.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Quick Books, Case Ware, Pro System fx Engagement, CCH, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Professionalism and respect for others.
- U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship.
