Role DescriptionThis is a full-time Senior Accountant role based in New York, NY.
The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close activities. This role will prepare and analyze financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide variance analyses to help inform business decisions.
The Senior Accountant will oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition, and assist with cash flow management. Additional responsibilities include supporting audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls, collaborating with cross-functional teams on financial reporting, and identifying opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes.
Responsibilities- Strong technical accounting skills, including GAAP knowledge, general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Experience with financial reporting, including preparation of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, expense management, and revenue recognition.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting/ERP systems; experience implementing or improving systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (SAP or similar preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strong internal controls, support audits, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative working style, with the ability to partner effectively across departments.
- Manage a team of 3 (1 AP and 2 AR).
