Salary/HourlyRate:
$35/hr - $50/hr (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview:The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting within a dynamic retail environment. This role requires a polished, detail‑oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities and contribute to maintaining the financial integrity of a luxury brand.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Perform account reconciliations, including cash, inventory, and prepaid expenses.
- Support inventory accounting, including tracking and cost analysis.
- Analyze financial data and provide reporting to management.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Merchandising, and Finance teams.
- 3 – 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
- Experience with general ledger and account reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in luxury or high‑end retail environments.
- Exposure to inventory accounting and cost analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Net Suite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience with multi‑location retail operations.
- Prior involvement in audit support or financial reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
