A well-established organization is seeking an Assistant Bookkeeper to join its accounting team. The organization is committed to fostering a collaborative, employee-focused environment while supporting operational excellence through strong financial processes and team-oriented culture.
Position OverviewReporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Assistant Bookkeeper will support daily accounting operations and perform a variety of financial and administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities- Prepare reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Process bank service charges and contractor refunds
- Process invoice payments and vendor Wire/ACH transactions
- Record daily imprest entries
- Prepare rent invoices and perform monthly reconciliations
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax filings (Forms 941, 945, and NYS-45)
- Process stop payments, voids, and reissued transactions across multiple funds
- Record investment and expense accruals
- Provide backup support for departmental functions as needed
- Assist with special projects assigned by management

Schedule & HoursThis is a full-time, onsite, non-exempt position requiring 35 hours per week. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Additional Requirements- Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Strong accounting foundation with practical experience
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally within a team environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word within an accounting environment
