Job Description
The Accounts Payable Analyst and General Cashier is a full-time, on-site role based at Sofitel New York in New York, NY.
- This role is responsible for processing vendor invoices, verifying approvals, coding expenses, and ensuring timely and accurate payments in compliance with hotel and Accor financial policies.
- The position manages daily cashiering operations, including counting and balancing cash, preparing bank deposits, reconciling house banks, and monitoring cash variances.
- Daily tasks include maintaining vendor files, resolving invoice and payment discrepancies, supporting month-end closing activities, and preparing account reconciliations and financial reports as needed.
- The role collaborates closely with Operations teams, responds to internal and external inquiries in a professional manner, and supports internal controls and audit requirements to safeguard hotel assets.
The position will pay between $32.00-$35.00/hour.
QualificationsYour experience and skills include:
- Strong foundation in Finance and Accounting, with experience in accounts payable processes and general ledger entries.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills and proficiency in Account Reconciliation, including identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact professionally with vendors and colleagues.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting or property management systems; experience in hospitality is prefered.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity in handling cash and financial data.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work on-site in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
