The Assurance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This role is responsible for managing all phases of assurance engagements, including planning, executing, and completing audits, reviews, and other attestation services in accordance with professional standards and firm policies. The Assurance Manager will supervise and mentor engagement teams, review work papers and financial statements, and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth.
This position partners closely with clients to understand their operations, identify risks, propose practical solutions, and communicate audit findings in a clear and timely manner. The role also involves participating in business development activities, contributing to process improvements, and staying current with evolving accounting and auditing standards.
- Strong technical expertise in US GAAP, auditing standards, and assurance methodologies, with the ability to apply guidance to complex client situations.
- Proficiency in engagement planning, risk assessment, internal control evaluation, and documentation of audit procedures and conclusions.
- Experience leading and supervising assurance teams, including coaching, mentoring, workload management, and performance feedback.
- Effective client service skills, including relationship management, clear communication of findings, and the ability to present recommendations to stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with assurance and accounting software, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and a willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, or eligibility and intent to obtain CPA licensure within a defined timeframe.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; a master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related discipline is a plus.
- Relevant public accounting experience in assurance or audit, preferably with experience managing engagements for diverse industries.
