We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of over 60 real estate entities, including managed, owned, and third-party parking garages with diverse ownership structures. This position is open due to the upcoming retirement of our client’s long-time Controller, who will assist in the transition and training process.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting and financial operations for a portfolio of 60+ real estate and parking entities.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Create ad hoc financial reports and analyses for third-party managed parking garages.
• Manage cash flow, cash budgets, capital calls, and partner distributions for all entities.
• Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax returns for 60+ entities.
• Prepare quarterly and annual Commercial Rent Tax (CRT) filings for approximately 12 entities.
• Compile year-end tax work papers for internal and external accountants, including multiple public accounting firms.
• Supervise rent payments, escalation reconciliations, and real estate tax reimbursements across approximately 35 landlords and managing agents.
• Handle internal billing and reconcile intercompany balances.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Lead the implementation of SAP, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, GAAP standards, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Prior experience in real estate or property management accounting highly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; SAP experience a plus.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
• Proactive, collaborative leader with a commitment to process improvement and accuracy.

Base Salary: $160k- $165k plus bonus, 401k (with match) and additional benefits/perks.
