Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting client engagements and maintaining accurate financial records. Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing account reconciliations and reviewing general ledger activity to ensure financial accuracy.
• Preparing financial statements, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Supporting audit and compliance requirements through the preparation of reports and documentation.
• Preparing individual and business tax returns across a variety of entity types.
• Collaborating with managers and team members to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality client service.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
• Contributing to special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification is highly valued.
• 2-4 years of experience within a public accounting environment.
• Experience with bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance.
• Knowledge of tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and multi-state filings.
• Familiarity with Ultra Tax CS, Checkpoint, Intuit products, and Microsoft Office is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Full-time, hybrid position.
• Standard business hours with flexibility as needed during peak tax and reporting periods.
• Office located in Jericho, NY.
