Location: New York

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full billing cycle for assigned attorneys, including invoice preparation, processing, distribution, and submission.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for billing inquiries, providing timely analysis, adjustments, and issue resolution for attorneys, clients, and internal staff.
  • Maintain and update client and matter information within the accounting system.
  • Research historical and current billing activity as needed.
  • Enter and maintain financial arrangements, including special fee and cost structures.
  • Review and summarize engagement letters to ensure compliance with agreed billing terms.
  • Submit electronic invoices and prepare monthly billing records for electronic archiving.
  • Provide guidance and training to new billing attorneys, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), iManage, and other firm applications following orientation.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Prior experience with full-cycle billing and assigned attorney portfolios.
  • General understanding of accounting principles.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant billing experience, including billing rates and client maintenance.
  • Prior law firm experience.
  • Experience with 3E and electronic billing platforms.
