Payroll Coordinator
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing time cards, computing and processing wage / salary payments and related with holdings.
Responsibilities- Gathers and compiles time records to be processed into database system.
- Prints paychecks for non-driver payroll groups.
- Prepares and mails paychecks to employees.
- Handles incoming mail and sorts within department.
- Assists in the preparation data to file for Federal, state and other taxes.
- Coordinates with interdepartmental staff on status paperwork for new hires, terminations, and disability payables.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll and labor laws on a local, State and Federal level.
- Respond to IRS inquires pertaining to 941 Tax Filings.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger system.
- Developing tax packages for Internal Revenue Service, State, and Local tax notices.
- Setting up multi-state SIT and SUI registrations for multiple entities.
- Complete 941 reconciliations and investigate discrepancies for accounting department.
- Performs projects and administrative duties as needed.
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1-3 years of payroll and or accounting background
- Strong proficiency in computer applications using MS Office
- Computer applications using Lawson helpful
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have problem solving abilities
Other:
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and potentially holidays as needed by the customer
We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $24 /HOUR. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay.
