Project OverviewBechtel Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business that serves the increasing demand of EPC services for customers in the semiconductor (manufacturing facilities and supply chain); electric vehicle (batteries, charging infrastructure, and production); synthetic materials; and data center markets.

Job SummaryThe Project Accountant is responsible for executing project finance and accounting activities to support delivery of a significant EPC project by ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance with contract requirements and company policies. The role partners closely with the Finance & Accounting Manager, Project Controls, and cross-functional teams to provide timely, reliable financial data to support project decision-making and successful project outcomes.
MajorResponsibilities
- Execute and lead project accounting activities, including cost tracking, general ledger, and sub-job financial management to ensure accuracy and data integrity
- Support monthly close, forecasting, and financial reporting including any required variance analysis
- Manage and review client and intercompany invoices to ensure compliance with contract terms and supporting documentation requirements
- Review and process vendor and subcontractor invoices to ensure proper cost coding and alignment with project budgets and commitments
- Monitor, review and reconcile key accounts (e.g., accruals, receivables, unbilled costs) and resolve variances in a timely manner
- Partner with Project Controls, Procurement, and Operations to support cost reporting, trends, and identify financial risks
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and approval authorities; support audit activities and maintain strong documentation
- Support project setup and close-out activities, including financial system configuration, reconciliations, and any required account settlements
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8
-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of project accounting, including job cost, commitments, and subjob structures
- Understanding of month-end close, reporting, and reconciliations
- Experience with billing and unbilled cost tracking
- Familiarity with accounts payable and P2P processes
- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Effective communication and cross-functional coordination
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Sound judgment and understanding of controls/compliance
