Job Details What You'll Do As a Tax Director, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients while providing strategic leadership to the tax department.

You'll oversee complex tax engagements, mentor team members, and help drive operational excellence throughout the practice.

Responsibilities include:

Lead all phases of tax planning, compliance, research, and consulting engagements. Review and prepare complex Individual, Partnership, Corporate, Fiduciary, and Multi-State tax returns. Develop strategic tax planning solutions that minimize client tax exposure while ensuring compliance. Stay current on changing federal, state, and local tax legislation and advise clients accordingly. Identify tax planning opportunities, industry-specific risks, and value-added consulting opportunities. Oversee multiple client engagements while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.

Review engagement work papers and communicate key findings and recommendations to firm leadership. Coordinate engagement staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and workflow management. Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals while fostering a collaborative team environment. Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional communication and trusted advisory services. Utilize industry-leading technology, including Ultra Tax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and Quick Books. Assist firm leadership with administrative initiatives, operational improvements, and practice growth.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Active CPA license required. 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience within a CPA firm. Prior experience managing complex tax engagements and supervising staff. Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state taxation. Experience preparing and reviewing Individual, Partnership, Corporate, and Fiduciary tax returns. Real estate industry experience is highly preferred. Proficiency with Ultra Tax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and Quick Books is preferred.

Exceptional communication and client relationship management skills. Highly organized with excellent project management and time management abilities.
