Vaco is assisting a publicly traded Real Estate Investment and Development firm to find a Senior Accountant with prior asset management accounting and financial reporting and forecasting skills, and an understanding of or exposure to property accounting to join their mid‑town NYC based team and support their US operations.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for daily accounting functions, including maintaining the company's financial records, producing financial statements and forecast documents, conducting financial and variance analyses, and providing accounting support to the asset management department and property managers.
Required- At least 5 years in an accounting function- preferably in a Real Estate environment
- BA/BS degree
- Accounting major highly preferred - Experience in preparation of period-end adjustments, accruals and account analyses
- Experience with high-volume journal entries and bank reconciliations
- Experience in Preparation of Financial statements and forecasting documents
- Ability to review and interpret financial reports, including investor and variance reports
- Understanding of asset management in a real estate environment
- Technology savvy- ability to assist with software implementations for acquired properties
- CPA or CPA track
- Public accounting experience
- Lease analysis and net rent calculation experience
- Yardi or MRI
