Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our Accounts Payable team, reporting to our Accounting Manager. This role supports all accounts payable functions while contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing, and values‑driven workplace.
This position is primarily based in our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office and follows a hybrid schedule, dependent on role and business needs.
Essential Functions- Perform accounts payable functions accurately and efficiently including invoice coding and payment processing.
- Create batches utilizing Excel spreadsheets as well as manual processing.
- Take ownership of vendor management (vendor set‑up and maintenance).
- Communicate with internal departments, stores and vendors regarding invoice and payment issues.
- Research and reconcile account discrepancies and prepare adjustments.
- Ensure proper and consistent compliance with company policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Assist with month‑end close activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reporting as needed.
- Prepare and file annual business license forms and personal property tax reports for store locations.
Job Responsibilities
- Other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements:
- Degree from an accredited university preferred.
- 0-2 years experience. Prior experience in Accounts Payable highly preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP, Net Suite and Concur.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, linking, formatting, etc.).
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work independently when required.
- Must be a team player.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate various departments at the organization’s facilities.
