Associate Director – Legal Entity Financial Reporting
About the OpportunityA leading global alternative investment firm is seeking an Associate Director – Legal Entity Financial Reporting to join its Corporate Finance organization. This position is responsible for legal entity accounting, financial reporting, strategic investment accounting, and regulatory reporting across management company entities.
The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, partnering with Accounting Policy, Fund Controllers, Deal Teams, Investor Relations, Technology, and Finance to support complex transactions, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities Legal Entity Accounting- Manage accounting for management company and advisory entities, including strategic investments, management fees, carried interest, equity method investments, and related transactions.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial analyses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses.
- Support quarterly and annual internal and external financial reporting, including financial statements, earnings support schedules, regulatory filings, and disclosure reporting.
- Assist with preparation of statutory financial statements and external audits.
- Prepare reporting packages for executive leadership, investor relations, and other key stakeholders.
- Partner with investment professionals, Accounting Policy, and finance leadership to evaluate accounting treatment for complex transactions.
- Support transaction accounting and reporting for strategic investments and corporate initiatives.
- Coordinate quarterly reporting for pending transactions and investment allocations.
- Manage reporting related to transaction fees, revenue sharing arrangements, and other complex revenue streams.
- Support GAAP and non-GAAP reporting and reconciliation processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows, improve reporting processes, and strengthen internal controls.
- Maintain a strong SOX control environment and ensure appropriate documentation of key financial controls.
- Partner with Finance Technology teams to enhance financial reporting systems and data management tools.
- Participate in strategic technology and finance transformation initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- 6–8 years of accounting experience within public accounting, technical accounting, financial reporting, or corporate accounting.
- Big Four public accounting experience or a combination of public accounting and industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience preparing financial statements and regulatory reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience collaborating across accounting, finance, investment, and operational teams.
