About Company / Opportunity:

We’re working with a fast-growing retail electricity provider looking to bring on an experienced Accounting Manager to help lead and evolve their finance function. This is a fully remote role with strong visibility to leadership and room to grow alongside a company navigating the complex and exciting world of deregulated energy.

This isn’t a rigid corporate environment. They value initiative, clear thinking, and people who are hands-on and energized by problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting for deregulated market
• Leading the monthly close process and ensuring accuracy across the general ledger
• Preparing GAAP-compliant financials and supporting internal and external audits
• Collaborating with teams across finance, operations, and compliance (PUC/ERCOT reporting included)
• Driving process improvements, building scalable workflows, and helping integrate new systems or acquisitions
• Supporting regulatory filings and special projects tied to business growth
• Mentoring junior team members or outsourced accounting partners as needed

Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Must be an accountant from the REPs and/or deregulated power space
• A strong command of core accounting principles, including revenue recognition, accruals, and reconciliations
• Experience working with ERP systems and solid Excel skills
• A self-starter who can operate independently in a remote environment and communicate clearly across teams
• Bonus points for prior experience in a startup or growth-stage company

Nice to Have Skills:

• CPA

Compensation: $120K–$200K total (base + bonus, depending on background)
