Job DetailsThe Controller will own the full accounting function, including financial reporting, close process, technical accounting, and internal controls. You will be a key partner in building a best-in-class finance organization that can support rapid loan book expansion and increased regulatory and investor scrutiny.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Own GAAP financial reporting, management reporting, and lender/investor reporting
- Oversee accounting for loan portfolios, interest income, reserves, and credit loss allowances
- Build and scale SOX-ready internal controls and policies
- Partner closely with FP&A on portfolio performance and forecasting
- Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
- Support preparation for potential IPO readiness and SEC reporting infrastructure
- Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements
- Lead and develop a growing accounting team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
- 8–15+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Background in financial services, lending, banking, credit funds, or fintech strongly preferred
- Experience with loan accounting, allowance methodologies (CECL), and interest income recognition
- Prior public company experience or IPO readiness exposure strongly preferred
- Strong technical accounting and internal controls background (SOX preferred)
- Demonstrated experience scaling accounting functions in high‑growth environments
