Senior Accountant | NYC | High Growth

Our client is a modern travel agency. They seek a Senior Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.

• Orchestrate the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and variance analysis
• Administer bi-monthly payroll activities, ensuring accurate processing of wages, tax with holdings, deductions, and benefits
• Compile and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP while addressing technical accounting matters
• Oversee revenue accounting activities, including deferred revenue schedules, contract analysis, and compliance with applicable accounting standards
• Streamline close processes by maintaining reporting calendars, enhancing accountability, and improving efficiency without compromising accuracy
• Safeguard the integrity of general ledger accounts, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies, control gaps, and reporting issues
• Revamp accounts payable and related financial operations in partnership with cross-functional teams to improve reporting accuracy and process effectiveness
• Architect internal controls, audit support procedures, and compliance frameworks to ensure ongoing audit readiness and operational excellence
• Modernize accounting workflows, systems, and reporting processes through automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Cultivate informed business decisions by analyzing financial performance, supporting tax compliance efforts, and mentoring accounting team members

• 3-6 years of accounting experience
• Open to industry
