LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established and highly stable consumer products/manufacturing organization to identify an Accounting Manager for its growing finance team. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this individual will oversee core accounting operations, lead the month-end and year-end close processes, supervise a small accounting team, and serve as a key contributor to financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on accounting leadership experience within a manufacturing, distribution, retail, or consumer products environment and possess a collaborative, ownership‑oriented approach.
- Lead the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statements.
- Support annual audit activities and serve as a key liaison with external auditors.
- Oversee general ledger accounting and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Manage and mentor a small accounting team, fostering accountability and professional development.
- Maintain responsibility for sales and use tax compliance, filings, and related reporting.
- Analyze financial results and provide insights to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives as needed.
- Support reporting requirements related to an international parent organization while ensuring local compliance standards are met.
- Take ownership of accounting operations and drive excellence in a professional, team‑oriented environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Prior experience within manufacturing, distribution, retail, consumer products, or a related industry environment.
- Strong knowledge of month‑end close, year‑end close, financial statement preparation, and audit support.
- Demonstrated experience managing sales and use tax requirements.
- Hands‑on, self‑directed professional with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Experience supporting an international parent company is highly desirable.
- ERP system experience required;
Microsoft Business Central experience is a plus.
