MolQ Entertainment’s Controller/Treasurer will build out and manage global accounting teams located in Stamford and London.
In this role, reporting directly to MolQ Entertainment’s Vice President of Finance, you will partner closely with the management team and department heads to help create, implement, and maintain efficient and effective processes around financial reporting, monthly closes, yearly audits, and related items.
This is an opportunity to take on a key role in a fast growing and pre‑IPO company that involves direct access to the management teams, department heads and other stakeholders as MolQ Entertainment’s global streaming services mQ Films and vMVPD mQ TV disrupt the $400BN global streaming media industry.
Responsibilities- Oversee all corporate accounting and treasury functions.
- Responsible for building and developing accounting and treasury teams.
- Owns general ledger, journal entries, A/R, A/P, payroll, account reconciliations, monthly closes and tax compliance.
- Strong focus on cash flow management and assist with rolling cash forecast.
- Oversees the issuance of financial statements and ensures they are compliant with GAAP.
- Manage inter‑company transactions with international entities.
- Develop, implement and document company wide financial controllership policies, including T&E guidelines.
- Lead implementation of ERP and T&E systems.
- Collaborate closely with VP of Finance with all internal and external financial reporting and analysis for the management team, department heads, the Board of Directors, and investors.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Work on other special projects involving financial reporting, accounting systems, data integrity, general ledger and reporting and optimization, and other compliance issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- International experience preferred.
- Previous experience working for a pre‑IPO and/or publicly traded company.
- Technical accounting experience.
- Ability to find innovative solutions while building scalable accounting processes.
- Deep working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and key principles of application for a wide array of finance and accounting areas.
- Detail oriented with superior organization skills.
- Must have work documentation to work in the U.S.
