Hedge Fund Accountant

A Global Alternative Multi-Strategy Asset Manager with a multibillion-dollar portfolio spanning hedge funds, private equity, and a broad range of alternative strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting for a portfolio of Fund-of-Fund and LP investment vehicles, including ERISA-governed entities
• Monitor daily and monthly cash movements, payment schedules, and projection flows
• Draft and distribute investment correspondence to relevant stakeholders
• Post, reconcile, and validate transactions across multiple internal systems
• Assess and update investment valuations on a recurring basis
• Review and reconcile NAV packages delivered by third-party administrators, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Lead year-end deliverables including audited financial statements, tax work papers, and compliance filings
• Coordinate directly with external auditors and TPAs throughout the annual audit process
• Evaluate existing workflows and design stronger internal controls, policies, and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a strong plus
• 5+ years of fund accounting experience within a hedge fund or alternative investment environment
• Background in ERISA structures and/or Collective Investment Trusts preferred
• Strong command of GL accounting across equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives, and private placements
• Hands-on experience calculating management and incentive fees
• Proven track record in managing full audit cycles and producing audited financial statements
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Advent Geneva, Arcesium, or Duco a plus
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing deadlines without sacrificing quality
