Controller, Accounting, Financial Controller

Our client, located on Long Island, is seeking a Site Controller to lead all financial operations for a manufacturing facility supporting the Aerospace & Defense industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government contracting, manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and business partnering within a highly regulated environment.

This role will serve as a key member of the site leadership team, providing financial guidance to drive operational performance, profitability, and compliance. Please note this role requires travel.

• Lead all site finance and accounting activities, including monthly close, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and annual operating plans.
• Partner with plant leadership to drive operational performance and financial results.
• Oversee manufacturing accounting, inventory, standard costing, and cost analysis.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and internal controls.
• Support pricing, contract profitability, and financial analysis for government programs.
• Lead and develop the site's finance team.
• Drive continuous process improvements across finance and operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA and/or MBA preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience as a Site Controller
• Required experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry.
• Strong knowledge of government contracting.
• Experience supporting defense programs and government-funded contracts.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, manufacturing KPIs, and operational finance.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, or similar.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and business partnering skills.
